Departmental Olympic and Sports Committee of the North (CDOS) -Coordinator
It is the representative of the French National Olympic and Sports Committee (CNOSF) in the Nord Department. Its head office is located in Villeneuve d’Ascq near Lille. Villeneuve d’Ascq is a commune in the Nord department in Hauts-de-France in northern France. It is part of the Metropolis European from Lille. The Department of the North had in 2020 4987 clubs and 564,475 licensees, which represents 21.6% of the population (2,606,234 inhabitants at the end of 2020).
This association governed by the law of 1901 has as members 59 departmental sports committees, from the French Olympic and non-Olympic unisport federations, affinity, school or university. Privileged interlocutor of the northern sports movement, the CDOS du Nord is the partner of the Departmental Service Jeunesse, Engagement et Sport du Nord and the Departmental Council of the North.
It is composed of 20 elected directors and 6 employees. He carries out many missions divided into 5 major poles and provides his help and expertise in various fields (animation, training, employment …).
The 5 poles of action of the CDOS du Nord are:
● Sport and Health, Well-being;
● Sport and Education and Values of Olympism;
●Sport and Citizenship: including the committee “Women’s commitment and the parity sport label”, “youth engagement”, “sustainable development”. Since 2010, the CDOS du Nord has been supporting voluntary clubs that wish to develop actions in favour of sports PRACTITIONERS, through its “Parity Sport” action. With his experience since 2010, he wishes to enrich his actions by sharing and pooling initiatives and sharing experiences on a European scale.
